KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 — Malaysia plans to bring Palestinians injured in the ongoing Zionist aggression in Gaza for medical treatment in the country, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

He said the government will allocate funds for this purpose and expressed gratitude to countries willing to cooperate in this humanitarian mission.

“I am in contact with Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his assistance to facilitate humanitarian aid for Palestinians and to allow us to bring back some of the injured and sick Palestinian women and children to be treated in Malaysia,” Anwar said.

He was addressing the “Himpunan Pembebasan Palestin” rally at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, here tonight.

Anwar also said the government intends to provide medical treatment to injured Palestinians who choose to remain in their own country.

He said he has contacted international leaders including Bahrain’s King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Emirati President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to secure ongoing support and humanitarian aid for Palestinians.

The prime minister highlighted Malaysia’s long-standing commitment to advocating for Palestine’s rights, freedom and independence, noting that this cause is deeply embedded in the Malaysian spirit.

“Malaysia does not bow to Western opinions or any country dictating whom we should support. While we engage with all parties, including the Palestinian Authority and (President) Mahmoud Abbas, we firmly uphold Hamas’ role in the struggle for Palestinian and Gaza liberation,” he said.

Anwar also said Malaysia will persist in its efforts to support Palestine, guided by principles of justice and humanitarianism.

“We have no alternative but to continue our fight. I am not exceptionally brave; I am simply fulfilling my duty, God willing, on behalf of my fellow Malaysians. With the mandate entrusted to me, I will do everything possible to support and advocate for Palestine.

“I urge everyone not to stop discussing the Palestinian issue and to keep providing aid and support. I want Malaysia to be remembered as a country that is unwavering and committed to fighting for the Palestinian people.”

The “Himpunan Pembebasan Palestin” rally tonight sent a message to the international community that Malaysia is steadfast in its support for Palestine and continues to call for its independence from the Zionist Israeli regime.
