SUNGAI BESAR, Aug 1 — Former Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department Interview Unit (D6A) Chief Supt Robin Guha Thakurta has been appointed the new Sabak Bernam district police chief, effective today.
He replaces Sabak Bernam district deputy police chief DSP Khalid Mohamad, who was acting district police chief since May 13, at a handover ceremony at Dewan Iltizam, Sabak Bernam district police headquarters, which witnessed by Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
Hussein said that Robin’s appointment was in line with the promotion and transfer of senior police officers on July 4 and expressed his confidence in Robin’s ability to undertake and carry out the duties entrusted to him with full commitment to ensure the security and peace of the district.
“The promotion obviously comes with bigger and more challenging duties. We should not grow complacent with our existing work and need to always move ahead.
“We should draw lessons from all criticism and carry out our duties with dedication and be a catalyst for the police force to remain strong,” he said in his speech.
Robin, 59, has extensive experience in his 32 years with the police force, and has previously served as Narcotics Crimes Investigation Division chief at the Seri Alam district police headquarters, Johor, and as Seremban district police headquarters Traffic Investigations and Assignments Division chief.
