KUALA LANGAT, August 1 — The Kuala Langat Municipal Council's (MPKL) new president is determined to continue developing the district, thereby attracting more investments.
Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said that as a focal development point of the Integrated Development Region In South Selangor (Idriss) project, a part of the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), Kuala Langat catalyses quality investment for the state.
“In Kuala Langat, development is in full swing. It is an opportunity for me to fully utilise my efforts to ensure that existing and potential investors come to invest here.
“That is why I requested the existence of an ease of doing business policy to facilitate investors in investing in Kuala Langat,” he said after his swearing-in ceremony today.
Hasry, 46, who has been serving as a civil servant since 2005, holds a Master's Degree in Land Resource Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He formerly served as the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council's president.
Previously, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said Idriss in Sepang and Kuala Langat would open investment hubs and new industrial areas in Selangor under RS-1.
The development of the NCT Smart Industrial Park, Malaysia's first managed industrial park, as well as the Carey Island Port and Carey Island Special Economic Zone involving the Kuala Langat district, are among the projects included under RS-1.
