Overseas board meeting allegation an ill-intended slander — KHSB

SHAH ALAM, July 31 — Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad (KHSB) has rubbished “illogical and malicious” allegations made by a news portal that the state agency is travelling to Australia next month solely to hold a board meeting.

The state’s strategic property arm clarified that the proposed meeting in Perth, Australia, from August 23 to August 27, remains an internal proposal that has yet to receive approval from its board of directors.

“If implemented, this will be part of a technical delegation aimed at fulfilling the company’s core mission in housing and real estate development, integrating the latest advancements in the rapidly evolving real estate sector.

“Any reports suggesting that KHSB’ overseas visit is merely to hold a board meeting are clearly malicious slander and contrary to logic,” it said in a statement today.

The statement is in response to a report published by Malaysia Now on Monday (July 29), alleging that KHSB and Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd are flying their directors and top executives on an overseas trip to Perth for a four-day retreat.

The article claimed that the trip would include an all-expense paid sightseeing tour and ample "free and easy" time.

KHSB said the news report did not accurately reflect the actual situation to the public and appeared intended to spread slander.

“As a subsidiary of the Selangor government, KHSB remains committed to professionalism, transparency, and integrity, upholding the highest standards of corporate governance in all aspects of its operations.

“We also urge media organisations to adhere to professional and ethical standards by ensuring thorough cross-checking before publishing news,” it said.
