SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Seven regions in the Klang Valley have been hit by an unscheduled water supply disruption after the operations of four water treatment plants (WTPs) were suspended due to odour pollution in Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement said the areas affected are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor.
“Air Selangor is taking measures to minimise the impact to users by deploying water tankers to the affected areas.
“Priority will be given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral services during the unscheduled water supply disruptions,” the statement read.
Earlier, Air Selangor announced unscheduled water cuts following the temporarily ceased operations of the Rantau Panjang WTP and the Sungai Selangor Phases 1, 2, and 3 (SSP1, SSP2, and SSP3) WTPs.
The full list of areas affected is available on its official website.
