SHAH ALAM, July 20 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has sent out 326,646 notices informing property owners in the areas under their purview about the new assessment tax valuation list.

Its Corporate Communications Division said that out of this number, they received 2,492 online objections from property owners as of Monday (July 15).

“These objections will be reviewed according to Section 142 of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171). MBSJ will also carry out the valuation list review process starting from August 16.

“The reasons for the objections submitted by property owners will be thoroughly investigated and heard in the Objection Hearing Meeting,” MBSJ said in a statement yesterday.

The highest number of objections was received from property holders in Subang Jaya/USJ with 751 people, followed by Bandar Putra Permai (574), Puchong (402), Kinrara (301), Seri Kembangan (210), Putra Heights (145), and Subang Hi-Tech (109).

The new valuation list review counter is open until August 2 at Laman Kenanga, Level 1, Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya, Persiaran Perpaduan, USJ 5, 47610 Subang Jaya.

Objections to the valuation can be made online via the MBSJ website or directly at https://bantahan.mbsj.gov.my before or by August 2.

The public can also contact the MBSJ Valuation and Property Management Department at 03-8026 3115, 03-8026 4345, 03-8026 7428, and 03-8026 4340 for further information.

On May 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the new valuation process conducted by the local authorities is important to ensure effective urban planning.
