SINGAPORE, July 19 — Singapore’s government services, local banks, telcos, and hospitals are not affected by the global IT systems outage impacting organisations worldwide.
The Digital Development and Information Ministry (MDDI) said it is aware of the global outage and its effect on several companies in the republic in delivering services to the public, including check-in services for airlines, publishing of newspapers, and carparks.
“With the information we have currently, it is a technical issue involving software from Microsoft and Crowdstrike, and not a cybersecurity incident,” it said in a statement on Friday.
MDDI said it is monitoring the impact and assisting companies in their recovery efforts.
