SHAH ALAM, July 16 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, through its charitable foundation, has approved an additional allocation of RM200,000 to further support its food basket programme.
MBI Foundation head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the fund, which was approved last month, is meant to ensure those in the lower-income group continue to receive aid and benefit from the initiative.
“The food basket programme is ongoing and the RM1 million allocation for this year has been fully distributed. Therefore, an additional RM200,000 was approved.
“The continuation of this programme demonstrates that the state government is attentive and cares about the people,” he said when contacted today.
Azri said those in need can apply for the assistance through representatives in their respective areas.
“The food basket programme is becoming increasingly popular, including in rural areas. So far, we are still receiving applications from village heads, council members and elected representatives,” he said.
