SHAH ALAM, July 4 — The First Selangor Plan (RS-1) mid-term review is vital to assess the effectiveness of the state’s implementation system, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the review is essential to implement new shifts that align with state and federal initiatives, including the 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review and New Industrial Master Plan 2030.
“The mid-term review demonstrates the state government’s commitment to monitoring the implementation of Selangor’s first five-year development plan,” he said when tabling the review at the State Legislative Assembly here today.
“It aligns with the concept of a medium-term plan,” he added, acknowledging that RS-1 is a “living document” that requires an agile approach to adapt it to ever-changing regional and global situations.
Amirudin said the RS-1 mid-term review adopts a systematic approach to assess progress and identify challenges encountered in the first phase of its implementation between 2021 and 2023, while making necessary adjustments.
According to him, over 120 stakeholders from the state government and private agencies had participated in various workshops and in-person discussions throughout the review process.
“This ensures the study’s findings are validated by authentic and accurate sources, and that future plans obtain approval and support from stakeholders,” he said.
To ensure the mid-term review is comprehensively implemented, he said several validation sessions have been conducted.
The sessions included state executive councillors and representatives from the state administration, district and land offices, local authorities, and state government agencies and subsidiaries.
