PETALING, June 19 — Exploring into the heart of Selangor communities, Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah recently explored a firsthand experience of their daily lives and activities during the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor programme.

During his visit, His Highness also witnessed the roles and responsibilities of the government and private departments participating in the programme, which was first introduced in February.

"So far, I have had the opportunity to visit three districts as part of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor programme, namely Hulu Selangor, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly and received good cooperation from all parties involved," said Tengku Amir after the launch of the Petaling District and Land Office Complex today.

In conjunction with the programme and the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, His Highness agreed to perform the sacrificial ritual of slaughtering a cow. Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah’s Chief Imam Muhammad Farhan Wijaya witnessed the ceremony.

Tengku Amir also distributed the sacrificial (qurban) meat to ‘asnaf’ (tithe recipients) representatives and district residents.

At the same ceremony, His Highness was briefed on the state development plan by three local authorities and several state agencies.

Gagasan Rumpun Selangor aims to celebrate diversity and foster unity statewide.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the programme would be held in nine districts involving a RM4.5 million allocation.

So far, the programme has been held in Hulu Selangor, Hulu Langat, Sepang, and Petaling, before continuing to five other districts until the end of this year.
