KANGAR, June 5 — The Perlis Customs Department stopped a trailer bearing the logo of an Israel-based shipping company, which was transporting a container from a neighbouring country, from entering Malaysia via Padang Besar on Sunday.
Its director Ismail Hashim said the container was ferrying frozen chicken.
“The operator of the scanner found the container bore the logo of ZIM. The vehicle was detained for confirmation and further inspection,” he said in a statement today.
Ismail said checks with government agencies confirmed containers bearing the ZIM logo are prohibited from entering Malaysia.
“The container was instructed to turn back to the neighbouring country the same day,” he said.
