SHAH ALAM, May 17 — Selangor’s Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Park in Puchong is set to expand its office space by over 50 per cent to meet local and international firms’ growing demands.
The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) said the expansion will involve adding two new floors for a total of five floors.
“In response to strong interest from both local and international companies, the IC Design Park has increased its facilities from 45,000 square feet to an impressive 70,044 square feet.
“This expansion includes the addition of two new floors, bringing the total to five and marking a 56 per cent increase in capacity to accommodate the growing demand,” it said in a statement today.
With this expansion, the IC Design Park, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, is also actively recruiting skilled candidates with degrees in electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and computer science by offering highly competitive salaries to attract top talent.
The expansion is also expected to generate around 300 high-paid engineering jobs, with entry-level positions starting between RM5,000 and RM6,000 for fresh graduates, while individuals with a Master’s degree or extensive industry experience can earn up to RM7,000.
Sidec is also looking to assist these companies in recruiting experienced engineers with four to eight years of experience who can play a pivotal role in leading their expansion within the Selangor IC Design Park.
Meanwhile, state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the IC Design Park would boost Selangor’s economy and position it as one of the major centres within the international tech ecosystem.
“The Selangor IC Design Park is a strategic initiative to create high-quality, well-compensated jobs for both fresh graduates and experienced professionals in our community.
“This effort not only supports our economic development but also positions Selangor as a significant player on the international tech stage,” he said in the same statement.
Since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the development of the IC Design Park last month, it has attracted Malaysian semiconductor companies from abroad to relocate or expand in Selangor.
Similarly, the recruitment drive and operations from the IC Design Park are expected to significantly boost various economic sectors, improving Selangor's consumer goods, housing, and overall income levels.
