SHAH ALAM, May 14 — Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) today celebrated its strategic partners for their assistance in collecting and distributing tithes in the state.

It expressed thanks to its partners during the Majlis Gemerlapan Rakan Strategik Zakat Selangor (Grasiaz) 2024 at Wisma PKPS in Shah Alam today.

LZS chief executive officer Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini said the board’s strategic partners’ commitment to collect tithes of over 51 per cent throughout Selangor last year.

“This programme is to give thanks to LZS’ strategic partners for their efforts from preaching to (tithe) collection. Last year, with their efforts, over 51 per cent of tithes were collected.

“Praise be to God, with this cooperation, we managed tithes of over 400,000 contributors in the state through means such as income, business, savings and property,” Sabirin said during the programme today.

“Various efforts have been made to trace those who have the means so they may fulfil their responsibilities to pay tithes, including a collaboration network with strategic partners.

“We also explore various aspects including age demographics; social, electronic and print media; and seminars to nurture awareness about the importance of paying tithes,” he said.

During the event, AUB Resources received an award for the highest tithe collection in the consulting agent category, as well as the Muaz bin Jabal Award.

The Best Commitment and Management Performance 2023 Award for the payment platform category went to TNG eWallet.
