KLANG, May 12 — The health condition of Selangor FC and national winger Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim, who was recently injured in an acid attack by two unknown assailants, is showing positive progress, and he is optimistic about being ready to get back on track, said Hannah Yeoh.
During a recent hospital visit, the Youth and Sports Minister said she was informed by Faisal’s doctor that Faisal is highly motivated in the recovery process.
“The doctor told us that his health readings are looking very good as he is very fit and that he was very excited about beginning physiotherapy.

“He is looking forward to getting back on track,” she told the press after the Amanah Lestari Alam (Alam) Be-Leaf Programme 2024 and the mangrove planting event at Mangrove Point today.
Yeoh assured that the Harimau Malaya icon is in good hands, adding that the doctor who has been treating Faisal is confident about the recovery process.
“The National Sports Institute is working with the doctors to make sure that his post-surgery and physiotherapy recovery plan is on track,” she said.
Describing Faisal, also known as 'Mickey,' as someone who is resilient, Yeoh said that she often comes across sports fans sending their well wishes to him wherever she goes.
“You know you have different kinds of athletes. You have athletes who may be down and who may not feel like ‘I can do this,’ but Faisal is a different breed altogether,” she said.
Yeoh also hopes that the police will provide updates on the incident investigation to all Malaysians.
On May 5, the national football arena was shocked when Faisal was attacked with acid by two unknown individuals at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.
The footballer suffered fourth-degree burns on several parts of his body, with the attack also limiting his movement and speech.
In response to the incident, Selangor FC launched the 'Stand With Faisal Halim' and ‘Stop The Violence!' solidarity campaign.
All Malaysians have welcomed the campaign, hoping that the national player will recover as soon as possible.
