King conducts aerial inspection of Mersing district

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, conducted an aerial inspection of of Mersing district's areas in Johor today.

The sovereign departed from Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru at 9.30am aboard His Majesty's Sikorsky helicopter and landed at Istana Flintstones.

According to a post on His Majesty's official Facebook page, the King inspected Mersing's coastal areas, Kem Iskandar, Istana Flintstones, and its lighthouse.

Sultan Ibrahim said Mersing is a tourism district that often draws local and international tourists and is rich in nature's beauty.

"In this nearly 40-minute aerial survey, I inspected the surrounding areas in the Mersing district, including its coastal area. Mersing is rich in flora and fauna and boasts many islands that attract tourists," His Majesty told the Royal Press Office.

The King also reminded resort owners and villagers about maintaining the islands' cleanliness.

"Do not be surprised, as I will conduct surprise patrols in villages and islands in Mersing," said Sultan Ibrahim.

His Majesty also inspected Kem Iskandar's boat facility.

"I also discovered that the combat training diving pool at the camp is not fully completed. It should have been handed over to the 21 GGK (21st Special Service Group) in December 2022.

"I was told the relevant party had requested an extension six times," said the King.
