SHAH ALAM, April 2 — The Selangor government has not received any reports of cases of heat stroke in the state, said executive councillor for public health Jamaliah Jamaluddin.
She said her committee is constantly working with the Environment Department (DOE) to monitor the weather conditions.
Similarly, several meetings have been held with the Selangor Disaster Management Unit and State Economic Planning Unit to formulate action plans to help deal with any heat stroke-related cases.
"While the weather remains unpredictable and there is a possibility of heat strokes occurring, we have not received any reports from the DOE at present.
"We have also conducted several meetings, and if there are any cases of heat stroke, we have the capacity to address them,” she told reporters after hosting an iftar event with the media at Chandat@Terapung Restaurant, here, last night.
Meanwhile, Jamaliah advised the public to exercise precaution, particularly during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season.
"Although the situation is currently under control, I advise the public to stay hydrated and carry an umbrella if venturing out in hot weather.
"It is also advisable to avoid crowded and hot areas during this festive season to ensure everyone's safety," she said.
