KLANG, March 23 — Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari took time to have his pre-dawn meal (sahur) with 268 Yayasan Selangor (YS) students and educators during the Rewang Sahur programme at its dormitories today morning.
In his capacity as YS' board of trustees chairman, he also presented duit raya to the students and distributed sahur packs to the police and Fire Department personnel, as well as to Royal Klang Municipal Council enforcement officers.
Speaking to the students, Amirudin urged them to make the most of the opportunity to receive an education at YS by achieving excellent results.
“Seize and gain experiences with friends in the dormitory and classrooms because, among nearly a million students in Selangor, you are one of those with the opportunity to receive a YS education.
“This opportunity must be seized as best as possible to achieve excellent results. However, remember that it is not just about results on paper; it is only part of life.
“Students need to understand humanity by maintaining manners and behaviour when interacting with teachers and people around them, especially with older individuals,” he said.
