Six lost climbers on Gunung Angsi found early this morning

SEREMBAN,  Feb 21 — The six climbers who got lost while hiking Gunung Angsi, Kuala Pilah yesterday were found at 2.34am today by a rescue team from the Negeri Sembilan  Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).

Seri Menanti Fire and Rescue Station Operations Commander, Yusry Bin Abdullah Sani, said the victims were found safe with one of them, a woman, having a knee injury.

"The victims were given early treatment by the EMRS Special Team and then allowed to go home by the police," he said in a statement here today.

He said the agencies also involved in the rescue team were the police, the Forest Rangers’ Office, the Civil Defence Force and the Malaysian Volunteers Department.

Bernama yesterday reported that the fire department received a report at about 7.30pm about four women and two men who were feared to have lost their way while climbing the mountain

. All the victims aged between 28 and 42 years, believed to be from Selangor, were found to have registered in advance at the forest office booth.
