AMPANG JAYA, Feb 18 — The Selangor Women's Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) has allocated RM190,000 to 51 state and Parliamentary constituencies in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations this year.

Its chairman Datin Seri Masdiana Muhammad said 20 individuals, including single mothers, the elderly, and the less fortunate in each constituency, received RM150 each.

"Among the constituencies receiving contributions today are Sungai Tua, Bukit Antarabangsa, Lembah Jaya, Taman Templer, Gombak Setia, Paya Jaras, and the Gombak Parliamentary constituency.

"Previously, contributions were distributed in several zones, including Klang last week," she said after the Pekawanis Chinese New Year Central Contribution programme at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) Convention Centre today.

Masdiana added that she hopes the distributed contributions will alleviate the burden of those in need during this festive period.

"Pekawanis will continue to actively implement programmes, especially to assist those in need during the festive season," she said.

Recipient Donna Choo, 68, expressed joy at the contribution, describing it as a gesture of inclusivity and unity in Selangor.

"I am quite happy. I can now buy necessities to share with my children and grandchildren," she said.

Another recipient, Toh Keng Chim, 70, said his mother Lim Kim Foong, 91, was thrilled to receive the contribution and intends to use it to purchase kitchen essentials.

"We hope programmes such as this will continue, and more people can benefit from the contributions," he said.
