Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has promised to arrange a meeting with the representatives of the non-governmental organisation (NGO) Jaringan Rawang Tolak Insinerator (JRTI) in the near future.

"I am currently scheduling a meeting with the NGO, which I will inform of shortly.

"There is still time as we have not issued the planning permission for the project. I understand their concerns," he said.

Amirudin was speaking to the press after visiting the Chinese New Year Balik Kampung Cultural Festival with his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad, at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur today.

In October last year, over 100 residents in Batu Arang and Rawang gathered with JRTI to protest against proposed incinerator in Bandar Tasik Puteri.

Overall, the residents have expressed concern about the project, claiming that it is not environmentally friendly and can impact public health.
