CYBERJAYA, Dec 23 — Out of the 1,091 premises inspected in Selangor under the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) this year, only four have been subject to actions thus far.
Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) chief enforcement officer Mohd Khairi Jamaludin said this is indicative that traders in the state are highly compliant with the regulations set during the Chinese New Year, the Ramadan fasting month, and Deepavali celebrations last year.
"The state KPDN is confident that traders' adherence to SHMMP for Christmas, in effect from today until December 27, will result in zero offences," he told the press after an inspection at a supermarket today.
Khairi affirmed the sugar and cooking oil supply in Selangor is presently well-regulated and under control.
The state KPDN will strengthen the presence of enforcement officers at focal points to foster a harmonious and ethical business environment.
Additionally, they will continue to carry out routine inspections to ensure no hoarding of the cooking oil and sugar supply.
