SHAH ALAM, Dec 19 — One thousand three hundred Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2023 students were selected to join the Selangor SPM Carnival (KSS) organised by Yayasan Selangor to guide students make preparation in answering SPM examination questions.
Yayasan Selangor Communications Unit head Norhayati Umor said the programme was held over two days starting yesterday to focus on SPM students with the potential to excel and pass the examination.
She said KSS participants were chosen based on the level of academic achievement of Form Five students from Science and Arts streams who have been evaluated by their respective teachers from 40 Selangor schools.
“KSS speakers were among the top teachers in Selangor who have the expertise and experience in their respective subjects,” she told Bernama.
KSS is organised jointly with the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit with the cooperation of Majlis Guru Cemerlang Malaysia and AskGuru to focus on 12 subjects namely Bahasa Melayu, English, History, Matematics, Principles of Accounts, Science, Economics, Commerce, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Norhayati said after the KSS is over, the participants will have access to AskGuru app for free until the end of the SPM exam, which includes online tuition, book revision, teaching content from excellent teachers and free seminars.
A student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kampung Jawa, Mya Shahima Samsul Hanizam said through the programme she learned a lot and received tips to remember her lessons.
"I feel lucky to be able to participate in this programme for free because it is rare for a programme like this to be held in my school. So when I get this opportunity I made the most of it."
Another student Al-Irfan Azuhuri Mustaqim of Asrama Yayasan Selangor Klang said the programme gave a lot of tips and guidance to help him face the SPM exam.
