SHAH ALAM, Nov 14 — All eco forest parks and hiking trails under the management of the Selangor Forestry Department will be closed to the public starting tomorrow until the end of January.
The department, in a Facebook post, said the temporary closure is in view of the northeast monsoon season that is expected to bring about heavy downpour and potential flooding.
“The move is a precautionary measure amid the monsoon season, which could pose safety risks to visitors,” it said recently.
Among the eco forest parks under the Selangor Forestry Department’s jurisdiction are Gunung Nuang, Ampang, Sungai Tekala, Komanwel, Sungai Tua, and Sungai Sendat.
The Meteorological Department had previously said the country is expected to face the northeast monsoon beginning November 11 until March next year.
