He said the matter was raised by residents in his constituency, who desire traffic management and flood mitigation projects for next year.
"I hope in the 2024 Selangor Budget, flood mitigation projects and road infrastructure to address traffic congestion can be prioritised and expedited.
"For example, after the 2021 floods, many drains were clogged. If we do not expedite this, I fear another major flood will occur, which previously affected nearly 7,000 homes, which I would rather not repeat," he said.
Johan was speaking at the launch of the flyover connecting You City, Cheras, to the Cheras-Kajang Highway earlier today, which was officiated by Kajang Municipal Council deputy president Mohd Fareez Mohd Ariss @ Mohd Hatta earlier today.
Previously, state executive councillor for infrastructure Izham Hashim said as of August this year, 25 out of 85 flood mitigation projects in Selangor had been successfully completed using approximately RM1.11 billion in allocations from the Federal and state governments.
The remaining projects are still in the implementation (physical work), pre-implementation (design), and planning (consultant appointment) stages, which are expected to be gradually completed by 2025.
