Land administrators have vital role as facilitators on pertinent matters — Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — Land administrators play a critical role as facilitators for related matters and help drive economic growth for the people's well-being, said Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

He said this can be seen through the implementation of high-impact infrastructure such as the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project, the Pan Borneo Highway as well as public facility sites such as schools and hospitals that involve land acquisition.

"In the aspect of improving the efficiency of Land Offices in Peninsular Malaysia, I am proud of the achievement of 90.08 per cent of land transfer transactions successfully registered within one day in 2022," Nik Nazmi said in a statement in conjunction with National Land Day 2023, earlier today.

At the same time, the minister hopes that through the expansion of the e-Tanah (e-Land) project in the states, it will be able to improve the effectiveness of other land-related matters further.

"In the long term, I believe this increase in efficiency will also contribute to the improvement at the state level.

"The contribution of land administrators forms the momentum of change felt by Malaysians, following the theme of National Land Day 2023, Land Administration Driving the Prosperity of Malaysia Madani," he said.

The National Land Day which is celebrated on July 27 every year aims to appreciate the contribution of land administrators throughout Malaysia in ensuring that land administration is always relevant and in line with the mainstream of national development.
