SHAH ALAM, July 26 — Members of the public will be excited to know of the various fun family activities awaiting them at the Selangor Children's Book Fair, which takes place at Kompleks PKNS starting tomorrow until July 30.

The Selangor Public Library Corporation's (PPAS) corporate division head Zafrullah Aris said the activities are also aimed at stimulating the intellectual development of children.

"In addition to offering quality and up-to-date children's reading materials, PPAS provides activities that support children's development from infancy to adolescence.

"It involves children with their parents, which can also serve to strengthen the bond among family members," he told SelangorKini.

Zafrullah added the inaugural event will feature over 100 exhibitors, including publishers and authors of children's books catering to those below 18 years of age.

On May 30, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government will be organising a children's book fair to promote a reading culture among Selangor residents and the publishing industry.

The past 16 years have seen the Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF), formerly rebranded from the Selangor Book Fair last year, draw in over 200,000 visitors.

Held at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre, SIBF features 225 local and international exhibitors, including those from the United Kingdom, Turkey, North Macedonia, South Korea, and Egypt.
