Sentosa Harapan machinery prepped since GE15 — State rep

KLANG, July 15 — The Sentosa state constituency's Pakatan Harapan election machinery has been ready from the get-go to face the upcoming state election next month.

Its incumbent state assemblyman Dr G Gunarajah said the preparations have been made as early as the 15th General Election (GE15) last year when they campaigned for the Kota Raja parliamentary constituency, which was won by Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

"So far, our preparations have been very good since GE15 until today. I have readied the machinery in all central voting districts, which is also extensive with over 700 people.

"On Thursday (July 13), I also met with several leaders from Barisan Nasional at the Sentosa state constituency's office to discuss the launch of Jentera Perpaduan Kota Raja in Kota Kemuning, on July 20.

"The collaboration between Harapan and BN is progressing well on the grassroots level. We believe the first state election under this Unity Government will run smoothly," he said.

Dr Gunarajah was speaking to the press after lodging a police report on the statement made by Kedah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for insulting the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, at the Klang Selatan police station yesterday.

Responding to a query as to whether he would contest in the state election, the assemblyman said he is prepared to defend the Sentosa seat.

"I am ready to defend Sentosa, but I leave the decision to the party leadership on whether they want to nominate me again or not," he said.

The State Legislative Assembly was officially dissolved on June 23 to make way for the 15th state election, after His Royal Highness granted consent.

Other states which will also hold elections include Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang.
