PETALING JAYA, July 4 — Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd has recorded an estimated RM2.45 billion in revenue for 2022, compared to RM2.18 billion in 2021, said its acting chief executive officer Abas Abdullah.
He said the 12.38 per cent increase was due to the national economy's recovery after the easing and lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, as well as the adjustment of water tariffs since August last year.
"Meanwhile, Air Selangor also recorded an increase in operating expenses from RM2.43 billion in 2021 to RM2.56 billion, a 5.26 per cent increase. Our capital expenditure also increased by 88.21 per cent to RM2.58 billion last year, compared to RM1.37 billion in 2021.
"Effective planning and implementation throughout the year have indicated improvements in integrating sustainability initiatives in its governance, financing, and business operations," Abas said while presenting Air Selangor's 2022 Sustainability Report at The Gardens Mall, earlier today.
Similarly, Air Selangor also successfully issued its third and fourth sukuk tranches, under the RM10.0 billion Murabahah Sukuk programme in July and September last year.
"Both these issuances amounted to RM900 million and RM400 million, respectively, to finance eligible projects, including water supply and sustainable water project management.
"All of these are in line with Air Selangor's sustainability strategy, capital expenditure, and working capital requirements," he said.
