KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 – The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has indicated that it wants the Defence Ministry’s Land Swap project report to be declassified.
Its chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said this was because two reports presented previously by the Government Governance, Procurement and Finance Investigation Committee (JKSTUPKK) to together with the Land Swap report to the PAC during the 14th Parliamentary session were declassified before the committee was dissolved.
Two more reports presented at that time were the Automated Enforcement System (AES) report on Nov 16, 2020, the Procurement of Six Second Generation Patrol Vessels (SGPV) report on Dec 1, 2020, while the Land Swap report was presented twice, first on April 2, 2019, and then again on Nov 16, 2020.
"Two out of three reports were declassified by the Prime Minister’s Department, the AES report on July 8, 2022, and the procurement report on August 17, 2022.
"The Land Swap report has yet to be declassified and as the JKSTUPKK has been dissolved, I have written to Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said to declassify the report,” she said, adding that it would enable the PAC to review the matter again.
