SHAH ALAM, June 7 – The diverse transportation network located in the city has become a draw for both local and foreign investors to establish or expand their businesses here, said Mayor Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.

Fuad said the convenience of transportation and transportation hubs in Shah Alam has consistently attracted investors, as it guarantees seamless operation of their businesses, especially in recent years.

"Ease of access to transportation is a major attraction. Shah Alam is surrounded by an extensive transportation system, and it will become even more convenient with the upcoming Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3), which will draw more investment.

"Furthermore, Shah Alam's strategic location also facilitates high investments. We are situated in close proximity to the main port (in Klang) and the airport (in Sepang)," he told SelangorKini.

Last night, Shah Alam City Council was announced as the winner of the prime investment location category from 2019 to 2022 at the Selangor Investor Appreciation Awards organised by Invest Selangor.

The other winners in the category were Klang Municipal Council and Kuala Langat Municipal Council. The awards were presented by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

In addition to this category, the event also honoured local and foreign investors with the highest investment values to the state.

Invest Selangor, as the investment promotion agency, also provided special recognition to Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd and Nippon Electric Glass (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for their outstanding commitment and achievements.
