SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed his heartfelt wishes to Christian residents in the state for the Good Friday holiday.

Extending the wishes to Sabahans and Sarawakians living and working in Selangor, he said the holiday is a period of great importance centred on penance, fasting, prayer, and recollection.

"The Lenten season, especially today, makes its believers whole and brings great meaning to Christians around the world, marking the end of the darkness of death, bringing

ight and hope to the lives of many.

"It is this hope of there being light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how long the journey, which is held dearly by all Christians across the globe and is known as the Holy Week, beginning with Holy Thursday yesterday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday this weekend," Amirudin said in his special message.

As a Muslim observing the holy month of Ramadhan, he said it was a source of joy to see various faiths being celebrated and appreciated harmoniously in Selangor.

"This diversity of beliefs and cultures is our strength and should be always preserved.

"Once again, on behalf the Selangor state government, I wish you and your families a Blessed Good Friday," Amirudin said.
