SHAH ALAM, Feb 7 — Some 97 per cent out of nearly 400 individuals have agreed on the initial design of the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) redevelopment project.

Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI’s Special Projects Unit general manager Datuk Ruslan Abdul Aziz said the findings were obtained from an online survey that was carried out on January 26.

He said close to 20,000 visitors have participated in the redevelopment project’s engagement session, with most expressing satisfaction over the plan.

“Many visitors are coming to see the project’s exhibition every day, especially on weekends. Most of them are in full support of the stadium’s redevelopment layout and proposed facilities.

“The public is generally pleased with the redevelopment plan, and eagerly await the final outcome,” Ruslan said, adding the exhibition has also reached over 1.2 million views on the various social media platforms.

MBI has also received hundreds of proposals related to the project, which will be reviewed once the exhibition ends on Friday (February 10).

“For now, we will look at these proposals first, with a thorough analysis to be carried out afterwards. If a majority of the proposals highlight certain matters, InsyaAllah we will consider it.

“Therefore, we would like to encourage as many people as possible to visit the engagement session, before it ends in a few days time,” he said.

On January 5, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said KSSA’s redevelopment, which will be carried out via a public-private partnership with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad, is slated to commence in the first quarter of 2023.
