SHAH ALAM, Jan 25 — The construction of Rumah Selangorku and a cultural centre will be two of the first initiatives developed in the Economic Development Zone of the Selangor Maritime Gateway (ZPE SMG).

State executive councillor for industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the projects under the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) are now requesting for planning approval.

“The lands along Sungai Klang are used as compensation for those involved in the process of developing projects that can stimulate the economy and are associated with housing.

“The first project to commence is Rumah Selangorku and a cultural centre. These projects are expected to take a longer time to complete since the area along Sungai Klang is quite large, extending from the border between Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to the delta of the river,” he told SelangorKini.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when tabling the RS-1 last year, said the state government has identified several areas that will be developed through the development plan of the regions.

He said the projects include the development of ZPE SMG, the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss) and the Sabak Bernam Development Area (Sabda).

Previously, Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd expressed its commitment to execute the project to ensure RS-1 succeeds in improving the state’s economy, society, government and sustainability.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, LLSB stated that it plans to implement infrastructural and socioeconomic development, which have been identified as one of the economic corridors.
