SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — Approximately 6,575.5kg of used fabrics have been successfully collected from fabric recycling bins, a result of the collaboration between KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) and Kloth Cares.

The used fabrics collected include shirts, pants, shoes, handbags, soft toys, and sheets, which the public placed in three Kloth Cares bin units since September last year.

"The bins include two at the Cyberjaya Recycling Centre and one at Menara Bank Rakyat in Shah Alam.

"This stimulating achievement is a result of the public's awareness of the importance of recycling items that not only includes paper, plastic, and aluminium but also old fabrics," KDEBWM said in a Facebook post yesterday.

It added that Kloth Cares is the first NGO in Malaysia to start a fabric recycling movement.

"This collaboration indirectly supports the national hygiene policy and the goal of sustainable development in Malaysia," KDEBWM said.
