SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 —The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will provide free transportation to the disabled (OKU) and the elderly.

Its corporate and public relations division head Shahrin Ahmad said the MBSA community vehicles are intended to help these individuals move around in seeking treatment at selected hospitals and treatment centres.

"Three community vehicle units have been mobilised for this service, including two vans modified to suit the needs of the disabled and one Proton Exora for the elderly.

"It is MBSA's responsibility to provide services to these social categories, as it can be quite limited and difficult form them to move around when seeking treatment," he said in a statement yesterday.

Shahrin added the community vehicles operate every day, from 8.30am to 5pm and can accommodate two passengers at a time.
