SHAH ALAM, Dec 20 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) records a revenue of RM19.65 million through the implementation of Jualan Ehsan Rakyat (JER) from September until December 18.

Its group chief executive officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said a total of RM6.16 million in subsidies were issued to help ease the people’s burden.

“This amount involves the first phase of the programme in 693 locations around 56 state constituencies from September 6 to December 6 before its continuation following favourable response.

“This programme has helped many residents to attain various necessities at economical and reasonable prices,” he told Selangorkini.

The state government had allocated RM10 million to ensure the programme’s success with chickens sold at RM10 each, fresh meat (RM10 per pack) and grade B eggs (RM10 per tray).

Also for sale are mackerels and sardines for RM6 per pack, cooking oil 5kg (RM25) and rice 5kg (RM10).

On December 14, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that more than two million Selangor residents had benefited from the programme during the period in question.

He also announced an allocation of between RM10 and RM15 million to continue this low-priced goods sale programme for another three months beginning January 15.
