SHAH ALAM, Dec 15 — Frozen food manufacturer and distributor CR Khan Global Trading, which emerged as the champion of the Graduate Entrepreneur Programme 2022 (Grow 2022) by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) aims to penetrate the Klang Valley market next year.
Its manager Khairul Najib Asarulah Khan said the family business produces frozen roti canai, roti boom and chapati in 2019, which were sold at selected premises in Negeri Sembilan.
He said the company also aims to market their products across the peninsular aside from looking for opportunities to penetrate online platforms.
“We are looking for online marketing opportunities while continuing with research and development processes. We want to ensure our products can reach their destination safely because they contain no preservatives and colouring and these are our constraints in pursuing online marketing,” he said.
Khairul was among the five top participants who were selected to present their products, sales strategy and business performance during the pitching session in conjunction with the Grow 2022 Graduation Ceremony, here yesterday.
Commenting on the win, Khairul said he did not expect to be crowned as the winner due to stiff competition from other contenders.
He received a cash prize of RM10,000 and plans to utilise the monies for his company’s product development, especially on the packaging aspect aside from applying for halal certification.
“I contribute this success to my parents who never stop praying for me. I believe this is only a starting point because many challenges are waiting ahead and I have to brace for them for the sake of my products, thus, surviving in the industry,” he added.
Meanwhile, second-place winner Nur Halimah Mohd Saiful Rahim said the victory has boosted her spirit to continue providing the best service to the engineering and construction industry players.
The managing director of Hasara Solution said her company runs an e-learning Bijakbata.com programme, which focuses on professionals in the construction industry such as architects, engineers and quantity surveyors.
“The project that kickstarted in 2019 has since gathered nearly 20,000 contractors across the country with all of them participating in the online platform.
“Hopefully, my participation in Grow 2022 would help expand the construction industry, especially on training aspects,” she added.
