KLANG, Dec 4 — The state government through the Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit (UPPS) has donated RM19,750 to the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Siswa Siswi for training and career assurance programme in the automotive sector.

State executive councillor for community welfare V Ganabatirau said the initiative via the Danasiswa Pekerjaan Selangor provides an opportunity for 75 individuals to undergo skill training under the industry-based National Dual Training Scheme.

“Collaboration between UPPS, the association and Carsome would allow selected trainees to undergo training as motor vehicle inspectors, and subsequently work in the automotive industry.

“Such a programme would help the people, especially from the B40 group to undergo training at the Carsome Academy for a year, whereby they will have theory classes for three months followed by nine months of industrial training before receiving the Level 3 Skills Certificate,” he said after launching the Danasiswa Pekerjaan Selangor ceremony, today.

Ganabatirau added that upon completing the training, successful trainees will be employed as full-time workers at Carsome.

“This initiative is introduced to achieve the state government’s target to discover more skilful and professional workers,” he added.
