GOMBAK, Nov 14 — The Roda Darul Ehsan Initiative (RiDE) programme this year will be enhanced with an additional RM50 for contributions to the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said some 3,000 e-hailing workers will receive the benefits, in addition to the RM350 in subsidies for B2 motorcycle licenses, and e-hailing courses worth RM150.

This totals up to RM550 in assistance for each participant.

He said RiDE participants are also registered as beneficiaries of the Insurans Am Selangor (Insan) general insurance scheme, providing coverage of up to RM10,000.

"By the end of this month, we will provide the same to an additional 2,800 participants in other Selangor districts. Should the response be positive, we will repeat it next year. For this year, RM2 million has been allocated to realise this initiative," he said.

Amirudin was speaking to an audience of 200 e-hailing riders, after presenting them with the RiDE assistance at Sri Gombak yesterday.

The RM2 million was allocated under the 2022 Selangor Budget last year, to continue the RiDE initiative following strong applications among young food delivery riders.
