SUBANG JAYA, Oct 27 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has prepared approximately 200 food baskets, as part of its early response to residents affected by potential disasters.

Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Johary Anuar said the baskets includes sugar, sardines, sweet creamer, tea bags, biscuits, instant noodles, bottled water, and mineral water, with a total value of RM10,000.

"Via MBSJ's Iltizam Prihatin programme, the initiative is a form of early aid to residents involved in any disasters, which includes floods, fires, and others.

"This has been made possible through corporate social responsibility with Best Marketing and Distribution Sdn Bhd, which donated 50 cartons of mineral water and other necessities, as well as providing special discounts on the purchase of goods.

"The concern shown by corporate companies who have come forth to support the efforts to channel aid to residents is highly valued, and we hope it will encourage other companies to also contribute," he said at a press conference after the programme's launch, earlier today.

Earlier on, Johary chaired the 10th MBSJ Plenary Meeting for 2022.

The mayor added that during the flood disaster in December last year, up to 13 traditional villages and two housing areas in Subang Jaya were affected.

"MBSJ will continue its commitment to help ease the burden of victims, by channelling aid to the affected communities," he said.

Through MBSJ Iltizam Prihatin, the MBSJ Iltizam Prihatin Donation Fund (Maybank: 562366652566)

was also set up to facilitate corporate companies and parties who wish to contribute to disaster aid, as part of their respective corporate social responsibility initiatives to residents in areas under MBSJ's administration.
