KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — The Selangor Smart Bus service will be upgraded with new elements in the 2023 Selangor Budget.
State executive councillor for public transport Ng Sze Han said the rebranding of the public transport service would be done following a great response from the people.
“The Selangor budget to be tabled by the Menteri Besar next month is something the people of Selangor are waiting for.
“There will also be some interesting announcements to be made from my portfolio, such as public transportation.
“The Selangor Smart Bus will be rebranded. It is time for public transportation in Selangor to be upgraded with new elements following great response from the people,” he said when met after officiating the First Class Strata Management Symposium at the Park Royal Collection Hotel here, yesterday.
Ng also said that he hopes the upcoming budget would focus on the infrastructure development and economic boost of new villages.
“As of this moment, we have to think of appropriate methods to restore the local economy, such as providing job opportunities, especially for the young,” Ng said.
Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the 2023 Selangor Budget, which was initially scheduled for the end of October, was postponed to November 25 to make way for the 15th general election.
He said that Speaker Ng Suee Lim will seek the approval of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj regarding the decision.
