KLANG, Aug 17 — The Klang Royal City Heritage Trail programme is an interesting step to upgrade the district to royal status by 2030.

Klang Municipal Council (MPK) deputy president Elya Marini Darmin said the project began last year, with the first workshop held in December.

"This workshop aims to obtain feedback, views and detailed discussions on the approaches applied to the heritage trail project.

"Next year is MPK's target as a preparatory year to change Klang to a city. So far, we have fulfilled the benchmark in that direction," she said earlier today.

The second series of the workshop was held at Dewan Hamzah MPK, and was officiated by state executive councillor for culture and heritage Borhan Aman Shah.

The workshop saw the participation of 50 individuals from the government and private sectors, as well as tourism agencies.
