KLANG, Aug 7 — A total of 1,200 Bandar Baru Klang constituents participated in the free health screening programme organised by the state government here, today.

Its state assemblyman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the number surpassed the initial registration of 1,000 individuals through the SELangkah application.

“Three state constituencies under the Klang parliamentary constituency held the programme this week and I have been informed that Bandar Baru Klang registered the highest number of participants.

“The figure is positive and shows that the programme promoted by the state government reaches the targeted groups,” he said.

Aside from the free health checks, he said the Community Service Centre had also held a blood donation drive at Klang Parade, here.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million to ensure the success of Selangor Saring, which would assist 39,000 residents with a medical history in their family, obesity, and unhealthy lifestyles.

The programme provides physical screenings, including blood and urine, eye, cervical cancer, breast, and prostate cancer testing, through September 4.
