SEPANG, July 22 — The construction of residences, especially stratified units, is being carried out in a sustainable manner for the comfort of residents, said state executive councillor for housing Rodziah Ismail.

She said this is in line with the state government's agenda to make Selangor a livable place.

"The state government has sustainable development in mind, meaning anything that can be used for a long time and functions well.

"Each development must come together with good maintenance including buildings, roads and parks," Rodziah said during the inauguration of the Selangor Livable City Physical Project (SDG 11) at Pangsapuri Ruvena Villa earlier today.

She said the RM140,000 fund has been fully utilised by the Sepang Municipal Council to upgrade several facilities in the apartments' open areas, including exercise areas, children's playgrounds, pools, waqfs, and reflexology sites, in addition to the installation of solar lights and signs.

Rodziah added that Selangor emphasises maintenance to ensure the population density in stratified housing remains in a good and safe condition.

"We do not wish to see an area that was once popular with people but eventually ends up derelict as though forgotten by time.

"Physical development is easy enough, but managing people is the greater challenge," she said.
