SHAH ALAM, June 28 — The first travel hunt put on by Tourism Selangor had 280 participants in 70 teams at the PKNS Complex in Bandar Baru Bangi, on Saturday.

The participants in the "Pusing Selangor Dulu" Travel Hunt 2022 Hulu Langat Edition were required to identify the location of the Travel Hunt using the information they had gathered by responding to questions and complete activities along the race route.

The event was held to support and encourage tourism events in Selangor, especially in the Hulu Langat district, while indirectly promoting experiential tourism, other community-based activities, and products that can be found in Selangor.

Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad said even though the programme was run for the first time, he is confident it would be able to excite the public, especially those the tourism enthusiasts.

"The event will also improve the reputation of Selangor's tourist attractions by helping Hulu Langat's local tourism entrepreneurs promote their goods products.

“There are nine districts and 12 local authorities in Selangor, each of which offers their uniqueness in travel experience, especially by providing a friendly service to tourists.

“For a start, the travel hunt was held in Hulu Langat and we would continue the programme in other Selangor districts,” he said in a statement today.

During the event, each team made up of four members, had to travel by car and they had to to complete the race within six hours, from 8am to 2pm.

At several checkpoints around the Hulu Langat area, the participants were given questions and travel tips as part of the disciplined format. The ‘start’ and ‘finish’ points were at the PKNS Complex in Bandar Baru Bangi and they had to go through several checkpoints, including at the Agro Goat Farm in Sungai Kantan, Pasar Sari in Pekan Beranang, LadyBird Organic Farm and Kampung Orang Asli Donglai Baru in Semenyih, and Sate Rono in Kajang.
