SUBANG JAYA, June 2 — The views and ideas that have been traded back and forth in the Selangor Mekar Kasih Ibu Tunggal 2022 programme will become the essence of the Selangor Women's Policy 2022 - 2025 action plan when it is carried out.
State executive councillor for women and family development Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said all the proposals encompassing economic development, health, safety and prosperity will aid women to lead better lives.
"Their views are based on their own lived experiences. So the state government will analyse it to formulate a comprehensive policy that can then help them.
"Through the programme, we have also been able to collect data on single mothers, thus enabling us to channel aid according to need," she said.
Dr Siti Mariah added the programme involved 150 participants consisting of single mothers, Pusat Wanita Berdaya (PWB) representatives from each state constituency, academicians and NGOs.
"Selangor will continue to focus on single mothers in various initiatives and this programme is the platform to share the current situation," she said.
