KLANG, Feb 22 — A total of 100 convenience stores in Selangor were selected as agents to assist in the smooth implementation of the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) e-coupons.
Local Government, Public Transportation and New Village Development Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said that the agents are tasked to help users, especially the elderly group and tourists, in the registration and payment process of the parking coupons.
“The (SSP) app users include senior citizens and tourists. These agents will help in the payment process of the coupons so that the users would not have to return to their car after making the payments.
“To date, there are close to two million users of the SSP app since it was launched in 2019, making it the number one parking mobile application in the country,” he said when met after the Klang Sejahtera: Towards Sustainable Development 2020/2021 appreciation ceremony here yesterday.
The Selangor administration had phased out the use of scratch parking coupons and implemented e-coupons via the SSP app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
However, the scratch parking coupons are still in use until the end of March to allow the users to finish up the coupons they have in hand, and unused vouchers that could not be used up can be redeemed after March.
