SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 — Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) will enhance its standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Ramadan bazaars this year if Covid-19 cases continue to increase.
Its president Rahilah Rahmat although the SOPs on Ramadan bazaars have yet to be finalised, the council have started looking into several aspects to curb the spread of the pandemic.
“The proposals cover the electronic payment, encouraging online purchase and limiting the number of visitors to Ramadan bazaars.
"This matter is being studied. Traders and visitors will be informed from time to time through MPKS social media accounts,” she told Selangorkini.
Rahilah reminded the public to cooperate by complying with the SOPs set by the National Security Council (NSC) and local authorities (PBT).
According to her such cooperation is important to ensure the operation of Ramadan bazaars goes on smoothly thus protecting the livelihood of small traders in the district.
This year, MPKS has allocated a total of 505 Ramadan bazaar plots in nine locations in the district.
