SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — State volunteer group Team Selangor has provided aid to approximately 3,403 homes affected by the heavy flooding since December 18 last year, said its chief secretariat Syahaizel Keman.

He said the homes of the flood victims involve 71 locations and saw 1,200 volunteers carry out various activities including cleaning homes, distributing beverages, as well as packaging and delivering food baskets.

"Currently all volunteers are still moving to the affected locations to aid victims. We endeavour to do as much as possible to help those affected by the floods.

"Yet priority is given to single mothers, senior citizens, and the lower-income groups," Syahaizel said to SelangorKini.

On December 18 last year, the state government mobilised volunteer groups including Team Selangor to aid in the process of relocating flood victims to temporary relief centres.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said at the time that volunteer teams also distributed early aid to victims.
