SUBANG JAYA, Dec 15 — The economic packages announced by the state government last year following the Covid-19 pandemic have assisted all sorts of people, regardless of their races.
State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian also praised the Menteri Besar’s administration, which he described as equal and fair in taking care of the people’s welfare during tough times.
“Selangor has executed various aid programmes which have benefited the people, including persons with disabilities, senior citizens, babies, single mothers and students,” he said when officiating the state-level Christmas celebration programme at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church yesterday.
Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari said a total of RM1.1 billion has been allocated by the state government for assistance packages to stimulate the economy.
The plans include Selangor Prihatin which has benefited frontliners, small traders and students, launched in March 2020 with an allocation of RM127.78 million.
The second phase, totalling RM272 million, was introduced in April last year to address the pandemic’s impact, followed by the Economic Recovery Plan on July 13 with a RM55.8 million allocation.
In January this year, the Kita Selangor 1.0 Package with a RM73.877 million allocation was introduced to ease the burden of Selangor citizens during the movement control order 2.0.
The second edition of the package, dubbed Kita Selangor 2.0, was announced on June 9. With aRM551.6 million allocation, it is aimed at low-income groups, students, small entrepreneurs, farmers, and tourism players.
